Our representative will receive you and transfer you to Nepalgunj. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and stay overnight in Nepalgunj, one of the largest towns in western Nepal. Our guide will brief you about the Kailash Mansarovar trip at the hotel. Overnight stay will be arranged at Cygnett, Siddhartha, Sneha, or a similar property, subject to availability.
From Nepalgunj, we will take an approximately 45-minute flight to Simikot, the district headquarters of Humla district. Simikot is a scenic village in Nepal's mountainous region. We will take a short walk around the village to interact with the locals and help acclimatize ourselves. Overnight stay will be arranged at the Humla Resort.
In the morning, we will take a scenic 15-minute heli flight to Hilsa. Upon arrival, we will complete all immigration formalities before taking a short 1-hour drive to Taklakot. Overnight stay will be arranged at Purang Hotel, Himalaya Hotel, or a similar property.
Today is reserved for acclimatization in Taklakot. This day is crucial to help our body adjust to the high altitude and local climate before ascending further. We can take a short hike around the hills of Taklakot to enhance acclimatization. Overnight stay at Purang Hotel, Himalaya, or a similar property.
After breakfast, we will drive to Mansarovar Lake. If the weather permits, we can enjoy a scenic view of Mount Kailash from Rakshyas Lake. After spending some time at Rakshyas Lake, we will proceed to Lake Mansarovar, approximately a 1.5-hour drive. Upon arrival, we will go around the lake, take in its serene beauty, and perform holy rituals like Pujan and Hawan. Overnight stay at Kailash Hotel, Himalaya Hotel, New Chinese Hotel, or a similar property.
We will take a short drive from Darchen to Yamadwar, also known as Tarboche in the local Tibetan language. Yamadwar is believed to be the starting point of the Kora (parikrama) of Mount Kailash. Pilgrims who wish to hire a pony, horse, or porter for the trek can do so here. Those who are not participating in the Kora will return to Darchen and wait for two days. The trek to Dirapuk takes approximately 4 hours, with the final leg being a steep ascent of about 30 minutes. Overnight stay at Sisha Pangma Guest House or a similar property.
This is the most challenging day of the trek, as we cross the Drolma La Pass at an altitude of 5,600 meters. We will start the trek early in the morning to ensure we cross the pass before the weather changes in the afternoon. After crossing the pass, we will descend to Zuthulpuk. Overnight stay at Zuthulpuk Guest House.
We will trek down to Darchen, which takes approximately 2.5 hours. From Darchen, we will drive back to Mansarovar, a 2-hour journey. This extra day at Mansarovar provides more time to soak in the spiritual and natural beauty of the lake. Overnight stay at Mansarovar Guesthouse or Parmarth.
We will drive back to Taklakot and stay overnight at Purang Hotel, Himalaya Hotel, or a similar property.
On this day, we will take a chartered helicopter flight back to Simikot (approximately 15 minutes). From Simikot, we will fly to Nepalgunj. For those heading to Kathmandu, a connecting flight will be arranged. Overnight stay in Nepalgunj or Kathmandu, as per the itinerary.
